Absolute bliss
My partner and I stayed here for a romantic night away and it exceeded all my expectations! The host was so kind and accommodating, showing us around the lodge before we settled in our beautiful room on the top level. The view of the sea and sunset was breath-taking and it was honestly one of the most beautiful outlooks I've ever had (and I've travelled around the world a lot).
The pool was beautiful and my partner said the water was lovely.
We went to Sharkys take away for dinner and brought it back to the lodge, sitting on the deck outside our room to eat and watching the sunset. We also watched the stars later on which were spectacular as all the lights are off after dark.
The room was immaculate. I found it very large and comfortable. It was incredibly quiet which I like.
I would recommend this lodge a hundred times over and really hope to return! Amazing!

Great Spot
Great place to stay, everything was top standard, breakfast was excellent and owners couldnt be nicer. Bed was comfortable and everything clean and tidy. Easy walk to restaurant and had a good meal. Would certainly stay there again

Overnight Stay
Attending a tangihanga in Dargaville so stayed out at Sunset View Lodge at Baylys Beach. Baylys is one of my favourite places on the planet and the Sunset View provides the best option for accomodation in my opinion. And truly, the sunsets can be amazing.

A slice of heaven
We had a fantastic stay – Sharron & Shane are so welcoming. The Surf Suite was spotless with a lovely ocean / countryside view. The room was so quiet, we enjoyed a great sleep. Complimentary breakfast hit the spot each morning!
Sunset View Lodge is located close to the beach, and a short walk to Sharkeys restaurant/takeaway/dairy. It's 30 mins by car to Kai-Iwi Lakes.

Idyllic Spot
What a beautiful oasis! Nestled in a beach settlement is this wonderful lodge.
Even though Covid-19 alert levels had changed, we felt extremely safe, from the knowledge that the rooms had been well cleaned and that the staff were taking extra measures to protect themselves and guests.
Staff very friendly and helpful, booked us in for dinner at Sharkeys - which we enjoyed and recommend future guests go here for dinner too.
Our room was number 5, upstairs, and perfect for watching the sun set out to sea. It really was spectacular. Listening to the ocean waves crash on the shore at night was very relaxing.
The room is well planned, spacious, with comfortable chairs and bed, with plenty of space in the bathroom.
Breakfast was provided in the guest lounge downstairs and perfect before we headed off on our trip south, back home.
The only problem was that we stayed for just one night!

Peaceful, clean, friendly
We stayed at Sunset Lodge for a night - the room was very well appointed and clean. The breakfast was good. Facilities more than adequate, and Lorne was very helpful and friendly. Pool was clean, and refreshingly cold on a very hot day. Thank you.
